1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site that operates independently of government. It does not hold official criminal records and cannot retrieve a record, conduct an official check, or submit a filing for a visitor.

The content identifies custodians serving the independent City of Lynchburg, including Lynchburg Police, the local court clerks, the Virginia Department of State Police, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. It may also connect visitors with outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of access, you must not:

• Interfere with the site's operation or another visitor's access
• Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against the pages
• Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or restricted area
• Use site content for housing, hiring, lending, or insurance decisions

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information from this site or a linked service to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also be criminal. Virginia Code § 19.2-389 limits authorized dissemination of state criminal-history information, while Virginia's registry law separately prohibits intimidation and harassment based on registry data. Registry information serves lawful public-safety awareness. It is not a basis for vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Lynchburg City Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Its advertising partners are not presented as services for reviewing applicants, rental applications, insurance risk, or creditworthiness. You must not use information from this site or a linked tool to:

• Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA
• Determine eligibility for a government program, permit, or license
• Set an insurance premium or assess creditworthiness
• Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
• Make a hiring or firing decision

A check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come from a properly authorized, FCRA-compliant provider. Virginia Department of State Police processes are official government channels, but users remain responsible for choosing the process legally authorized for their purpose.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General information about Lynchburg records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, sealing rule, or expungement statute applies to a particular person. Seek advice from a licensed Virginia attorney for that analysis.
