Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Lynchburg City Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message may be kept for the purpose of answering it. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Our systems receive routine technical information when a visitor loads a page, including:

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Lynchburg City Criminal History does not compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general information about requesting records from Lynchburg Police, Lynchburg court clerks, the Virginia Department of State Police, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not combined into consumer reports or third-party criminal-history files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes displayed on this site. A partner's own privacy policy governs information submitted to its tool. Because that company sets its retention and disclosure practices, review its policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Lynchburg offices, Virginia court and agency portals, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once you follow a link away from this site, the destination's privacy rules apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may also use their own systems to track activity across websites for targeted advertising. This site does not control that tracking.
